When Demi Lovato’s next album comes out, she has no plans to take Miley Cyrus’ untamed approach, and she won’t be ditching her squeaky-clean Disney sheen.
“I don’t think it’s going to change my image, not drastically,” the singer told us at VH1′s Do Something Awards about her third album. “It’s going to be what you’re seeing of me right now. It’s going to be very Demi.”
The Camp Rock actress, who turns 18 next month, did say…
“It’s more mature,” she explained. “It’s definitely grown up, but in a classy way.”
The Teen Choice-nominee, who guest starred on an episode of Grey’s Anatomy in May, also told us she’d love to make a return to ABC’s hit medical drama.
“I’d be there in a second,” she said. “I would come back as a doctor if I could.”

Last year, Demi Lovato released her pop/rock sophomore album, Here We Go Again, and now Lovato is, well, at it again. She’s back in the studio, but unlike her first two efforts, this one will sound a little less hardcore, as Demi embraces her inner-R&B diva.
“I’m really excited for working on new music in the spare time that I have before I go out on tour with the Jonas Brothers,” she told MTV News on Monday in Los Angeles at the VH1 Do Something Awards.
“I’m working on new music, writing new songs, trying to approach a different route, doing a new sound,” Lovato continued. “I’m really excited. It’ll be fun. It’s more R&B/pop. I’m trying to bring out my inner ‘soul’; a new side of Demi,” she laughed. “I’m straying away from the rock this time.”
If Lovato’s enthusiasm about working on her next project wasn’t obvious already, her Twitter posts make it clear. A lot of her recent tweets have been updates about working on that new album or just gigging around with friends.
“I’m literally in love with music. Everything I do in life is for music. If I could, I would marry music,” she wrote over the weekend. “Gathered around with friends playing music.. I live and breathe for these moments in my life.
“Yes!!! Finished writing a song that I’m so proud to call my own!! It’s moments like these that make me never want to stop writing music.. ,” Lovato tweeted just days before. “Writing a song that I think my South American fans will love…. this ones for you guys…. Just got the rough cut of the song we did yesterday… soooo excited right now!”

Breaking up is hard to do, but spending the next three months on the road with your ex? Not a problem, says Joe Jonas.
“Demi [Lovato] has been a friend of mine for a long time,” the singer, 20, told Ryan Seacrest on his KIIS-FM radio show Friday about his former girlfriend, 17, who’ll be opening for the Jonas Brothers when they kick-off their tour Aug. 7.
“I think that our friendship is so strong that it surpasses a lot of things and I think touring will be a lot of fun,” says Jonas. The couple split in May, three months after going public with their relationship.
And life post-breakup for the two hasn’t been awkward. In fact, it’s “definitely been cool,” Jonas says, adding that the two saw each other recently at a Hollywood event and have been “trying to get together and hang out before we go on tour together.”
But as for jumping back into the dating game, Jonas isn’t rushing. “I’m just a single dude about to go on tour,” he says.

Teen Vogue cover girl Demi Lovato has created a fashion-themed music video for her song “Me, Myself & Time.” The video launches tomorrow on Disney Living’s YouTube site, but we were lucky enough to receive an exclusive sneak peek. The music video follows a young girl on her first day back to school wearing outfits from the D-Signed clothing line, a collaboration between Target and Disney that is set to debut for back-to-school 2010. The line is geared towards tweens and is inspired by Disney Channel characters, including Demi’s character Sonny Munroe from Sonny with a Chance.
Check out the video to find out Demi’s top fashion tips and see a mixed and matched look from the D-Signed line! The full video will be released here tomorrow. Thank you to Sierra for the heads up!

When Kim Kardashian heard that Demi Lovato had chosen her as her style icon, Kim took to her blog to praise Demi and talk about how happy it makes her to inspire young women to embrace their curves.
“Demi is one of the few young stars who manages to show off her own unique style and sense of self while still keeping her looks age-appropriate,” says Kim. “I know for me it was a long journey to get to where I am today, and if I can help just one girl feel happy and confident in her own skin by showing that girls should not aspire to be, nor should they feel pressured to be skinny, then I’ve made a little bit of a difference.”
